LAST NIGHT SAW Don’t Tell The Bride feature its first-ever same-sex marriage, with grooms Mark White and Kerwin Villalobos.

Dubliner Mark and Kerwin from Venezuela met in the Dragon bar four years ago, overcame language barriers (Kerwin had very little English when they first met) and fell in love.
They got a civil partnership in 2014 but when the marriage referendum was passed last year, they decided to tie the knot officially with a 1916-themed wedding.

However planning the ceremony was painful for Kerwin, as his mother Giancarla still lives in South America and wouldn’t be able to attend.
An already emotional episode was made even more so when Mark surprised Kerwin by flying his mother over from Venezuela.

After a nightmare of visa issues, she finally arrived – and had a tear-filled reunion with her son in the days before his wedding.

And everyone at home was in floods:

Mark and Kerwin’s wedding day went off without a hitch, with Giancarla walking Kerwin down the aisle.
Congratulations to both grooms! We’ll be sobbing for the rest of the day.
